Deputy General Manager - Procurement
Academic Qualifications - Graduate in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
Goal - Responsible for ensuring that all the parts required as per the monthly production plan is available in the plant to complete the equipment. Ensure that POs are printed out within a span of 2 days from the release of PR based on lead times. Follow up with this team members to ensure that supplies arrive as per committed dates
Experience - 15-18 years of experience, which at least 8-10 in Procurement, on which at least 3 years in managing the strategy of a department
Tasks to be performed - • Ensure that all parts required as per monthly production plan is available as per schedule
• Convert all PRs to POs within 2 days of release
• Ensure that all details such as POs, quality plan and drawings are submitted to the vendor
• Ensure that all parts arrive on time from the vendor and support in completing GRN
• Support quality team in resolution of any related issues
• Ensure that vendor’s payments are made on time
• Support Sourcing team in evaluation of vendors
• Communicate with PPC to update regarding lead times to ensure that production plan is stable; any variance in lead times should be communicated on time
Geographical scope - Based at Hailstone’s corporate office at Palakkad. May need to travel occasionally to meet vendors and suppliers
Career path - •Potential future role: General Manager. Subject to acquisition of necessary competencies, availability of an open position and management discretion
• Prerequisites: Develop expertise to train new Purchase Officers to work independently
